Product Consultant (Software) – Client facing – Luton – £35k+ Description Education Requirements - Degree Calibre Industry - Software Vendor Job Location - Luton - but a mix of client facing / home and office working Qualifications - Prince2 would be a bonus although can be done through this role Work Hours - Standard 37 Hours with flexibility for client facing activity Benefits: Company Shares (awarded on starting) - Car / Allowance - Bonus - Pension Product Consultant - Warrington - £35k (negotiable for the right candidate) + Car + Benefits - Established Software House This role sits within a well-established computer software company, specialising in the development and supply of works / maintenance and asset management systems to local government and related services sectors. Because the Product Consultant role requires visits to customer sites, a company car is provided as part of the package. The Consultancy department is expanding and they have many opportunities for career progression within the department. Responsibilities: Product Consultancy - Your prime responsibility is to focus on identifying and delivering high quality services. You will run or participate in, key meetings with clients including requirement sessions, system demonstrations, user acceptance testing, and end user training. Pre-sales and identifying opportunities - Although Consultants are not primarily engaged in sales activity, it’s essential that you have commercial sense and sensitivity because the services you deliver are chargeable. You are expected to identify opportunities that can be developed to the benefit of the customer and the business. You will be required to help prepare quotations and liaise with the Account Managers as appropriate to ensure that the quotations accurately reflect the services you are able to provide and that they can be delivered in a planned and efficient way. Business Analysis - You will collaborate with customers to ensure a comprehensive set of requirements, aligned to business objectives, gaining full understanding of current business processes. Job Scheduling and task management - Consultant’s report directly to the Professional Services Manager but are responsible for managing their own time and prioritising their tasks in accordance with the objectives set by Management, pro-actively highlighting any issues or exceptions as soon as possible. You will be expected to keep accurate and timely records of all your planned and completed activities. As a consultant, you will be brought on to larger projects as expert resources are required. You will work closely with your colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of any project you are associated with. Solution Development -
Based on your experience, you will be responsible for assisting in the development of both the
product and services, shaping the future direction.
You will be asked to support through dialogue with customers and our internal development team as well as testing updates and new releases.
Training and associated materials - You will be required to conduct key user training to customers in your areas of specialisation at customers’ premises using prepared training materials. In some areas, you’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining the standard training materials, such as guides, slide shows and videos. Customer Support - First and second line support is provided by the Support Team, but as a subject matter expert you will be expected to provide third-line functional support on escalations enabling customers to achieve maximum benefits from the software. Skills Strong IT skills and understanding of the software implementation process Great communication skills, able to adjust the style of delivery to varying audiences Ability to work on different tasks simultaneously, identifying key priorities Strong time management, organisational skills and diligent in preparation. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills Proven knowledge of analyst frameworks, business processes and business requirements methodologies Proven ability to integrate with teams and build relationships with clients Strong analytical skills as well as creative problem solving Excellent communication and collaboration skills Experience Requirements Previous software applications experience of large-scale commercial systems is essential, whilst Local Government, Civil Engineering, Utilities, Highways or construction experience would be advantageous.
