I am delighted to be working with a leading organisation in the North East who are looking to add to their procurement team. My client is looking to recruit a Procurement Specialist on a full time permanent basis. This role also offers hybrid working with a requirement of just one day in the office.



Reporting to the Procurement Manager and sitting within the Finance Team you will be responsible for procuring of goods and services nationally. My client is looking for an experienced procurement professional who ideally is qualified L4CIPS or working towards this level. The successful candidate will provide stakeholders with options and solutions in order to maximise value for money and benefit the business whilst complying with both legislation and internal policies.



Typical duties:




  • Providing both technical and professional advice on procurement matters

  • Gain internal knowledge and understanding in order to adopt commercial best practices - educating departmental heads

  • Pipeline management of strategic procurement projects - including risk, technical process, legal requirements and stakeholder management

  • Taking lead in advising on compliance with The Public Contracts Regulations 2015

  • Ensuring how to best procure each product or service through thorough research, knowledge and utilising your expertise

  • Enhancing the overall reputation of the procurement function through developing contracts, terms, KPIs and solid contract management

  • Development of evaluation models

  • Attending contract review meetings

  • Management of projects using e-procurement tools and internal database

Ideal candidates:




  • Will have had exposure of working in procurement within the public sector - local authorities, housing, not for profit or NHS

  • Qualified or working toward L4CIPS

  • You will have exceptional organisational and communication skills

  • Posses ambition and drive
