Cedar are exclusively supporting UK Shared Business Services (UK SBS) who are going through a period of growth and as a result are looking to hire a number of Procurement Specialists. These roles are all permanent job opportunities with a starting salary of �31,797. All the roles will offer 28 Days Annual Leave (plus Bank Holidays), CIPS Funding (on completion of your probation period) and an Employer Pension Contribution of 26%. These roles offer flexible hybrid working, as the role will be mainly Home Based, but you will be required to go to one of UK SBS offices in either Swindon (Head Office) or Newport (whichever is closest to you) for key meetings/requirements.

UK SBS's Partners include the Department for Business & Trade (DBT), Department of Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ), Department of Science & Innovation (DSIT) and UK Research & Innovation (UKRI), in which they provide HR and Payroll, Finance, Procurement, and IT business services and specialist expertise.

ABOUT THE PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST ROLE:

Reporting into the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that the defined best practice procurement processes and policies are followed to deliver maximum use of UK SBS systems and processes and optimise savings opportunities. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of procurement initiatives sourcing a range of products/services and that you help develop close co-operative relationships with internal partners to leverage expertise, understand local market conditions, support their specific aims and objectives, and deliver value adding services and agreements. You will also support the preparation of pre-tender and tender documents, following this through the full procurement sourcing life cycle and also support the Category Manager with any ad-hoc and strategic activities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Experience preparing and/or managing tenders and contracts
  • Experience using eProcurement/eSourcing tools
  • Experience supporting a Category/Procurement Managers (or similar role) in the delivery of best practice procurement and achieving value for money
  • Knowledge and experience of procurement processes in the Public Sector would be advantageous
  • Experience of working in a large dispersed organisation and/or shared services environment would be advantageous
  • Member of or working towards Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) would be advantageous
