We have an exciting new opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join our team based in Birmingham.In this role you will lead and manage all project delivery and work winning procurement activities within your operational business unit. Providing specialist expertise, knowledge and supply chain management skills, you will develop and implement appropriate project procurement strategies that deliver contract requirements at the lowest overall cost.This is apermanent staff position with NG Bailey, and some hybrid working is available.ResponsibilitiesKey deliverables in this role are:Comply with health and safety processes to ensure that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities.Provide effective leadership and management within your operational business unit, ensuring clarity of objectives for team members, and collaborative/supportive working techniques with project and work winning teams.Manage supply chain in your operational business unit to maximise value. Ensure supply chain relationships are developed and maintained to deliver exemplary performance.Lead supplier performance reviews, providing feedback to suppliers and implementing improvement plans where necessary. Ensure that supply chain adheres to agreed SLAs.Proactively support bid teams with up to date and accurate procurement data, ensuring that the right prime cost is identified.Support project delivery teams in pre-commencement periods through the publication of known/national SLAs, and the development of project specific, value adding SLAs with key suppliers.Work with group sourcing manager(s) to ensure that category strategies, and associated financial targets/objectives are met.Act as, or ensure that a project lead is appointed on each project/tender, ensuring that the procurement function produces meaningful procurement strategies for all.Take ownership for ensuring consistent, accurate and maintained procurement schedules are in place on every project.Support the supply chain leader, providing spend, savings, aggregation and other relevant data to drive performance metrics/dashboards etc, and to demonstrate value added.Maintain savings trackers on a regular basis. Understand rebate agreements and proactively manage order placement accordingly, ensuring that work winning and project delivery objectives are met.RequirementsTo be successful in this role you will have:Previous experience of a role in a management environment, involving significant exposure to a wide range of supply-related activities, hands on procurement experience of sub-contract and material packages.Extensive experience in an operational buying role, using all negotiating techniques and procurement approaches.Experience of managing teamsExperience of operational buying within an MEP/Construction environmentFull Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) (desirable)Pension with leading provider and up to 8% employer contributionFree 24/7 365 Employee assistance program to support mental health and wellbeing (including counselling sessions and legal advice)DiscountsIf this is of interest, please apply with an up to date CV, and your salary/package expectations About Us
