We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, for a Procurement Manager. This is a new role that has been created and will form part of a large, multidisciplinary Project Management Team. You will be joining a progressive, a people-centred, modern organisation who are dedicated to the development of sustainable, diverse, co-operative and caring communities. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in procurement and contract management in a Housing Association setting, or the Public Sector.
The Role:
As a Procurement Manager, you will be:
  • Ensuring the successful implementation and compliance of the Procurement Strategy,
  • Working with internal stakeholders on developing annual procurement plans
  • Overseeing service level procurement compliance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Managing the procurement of high value and strategic contracts for works, goods, and services - This will include, maintenance contracts & environmental contracts of new and existing suppliers
  • Managing the procurement and evaluation processes across multiple project teams
  • Advising on and assisting budget holders with managing supplier performance against contractual terms and KPIs.
  • Identifying opportunities for continual improvement in services and improving value for money through the procurement process.
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Procurement Manager role should have:
  • 5 years' experience of managing and engaging with senior stakeholders, running housing/public/private sector procurements.
  • Experience of establishing off framework agreements
  • Experience of commercial negotiation at a senior level.
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of public procurement law and contracts.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
The Package:
