Job DescriptionWest Dunbartonshire Council are looking to recruit an outstanding Procurement Professional to lead their Corporate Procurement Unit. The Unit provides support, assistance and direction to all Council Services, West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, West Dunbartonshire HSCP and a number of associated organisations. Sitting between Glasgow in the East, Argyll and Bute to the West and Loch Lomond to the North, the West Dunbartonshire area is rich in history shaped by its world famous shipyards, the Kilpatrick Hills, iconic Titan Crane, Dumbarton Rock and Castle, unique waterfront sites and spectacular views. West Dunbartonshire Council has developed an ambitious programme of physical regeneration and renewal and in addition to leading a team of procurement officers in the provision of a full procurement service, overseeing corporate regulated procurement expenditure in excess of £125M (22/23 figures) and delivering in year targeted savings in excess of £400k (23/24) the successful candidate will be expected to bring their experience of working in a multi-disciplinary project environment to bear to contribute to the delivery of key Housing, Regeneration and ICT projects. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to lead the Council's challenging procurementjourney and to support a variety of large scale projects to successful completion. RequirementsThe successful candidate will require to be qualified to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and hold full membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Additionally the successful candidate will require to demonstrate substantial experience of managing teams (preferably in a public sector procurement environment) and leading or substantially contributing to complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
