UK Leading Infrastructure Firm - Procurement Manager - Indirects - London (Hybrid) - £65-70k + package

The Head of Procurement at this leading UK Infrastructure organisation is undergoing huge plans to expand their best-in-class dynamic procurement function to manage upcoming pipeline projects! With the procurement team now business partnering with the senior stakeholders to educate and drive strategic change within the business they are now looking for an ambitious procurement Manager to join the team and lead on procurement strategy and category management across a variety of indirect spends.

This is a fantastic opportunity with a diverse procurement professional with a background in the Construction, engineering, or railway industries who want to develop procurement roadmap, tender programs, and category strategies; work hand in hand with the Head of Procurement and senior stakeholders to make a significant impact on the wider business and the rail industry across the UK.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the procurement strategy and category management, ensuring optimal results for the business
  • Negotiate contracts and manage suppliers to drive commercial value and support safety, sustainability, and CSR initiatives
  • Develop procurement roadmaps, tender programs, and category strategies to maximize value for money and foster continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders, senior management, directors and external suppliers

Key Deliverables:

  • Provide market insight and analysis to inform strategy development
  • Draft and negotiate contract terms, review proposed amendments, and undertake market research to enhance supplier contracts
  • Develop cost reduction strategies and support budgeting initiatives
  • Maintain a PSL based on performance and cost

Requirements:

  • CIPS preferable
  • 5+ years of experience preferable
  • Proficient in tendering with UCR 2016
  • Experience in procuring large complex tenders across various indirect categories
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to build collaborative business relationships
  • Track record of delivering cots benefits and improvements
  • Understand the railway industry and its supply chain
  • Degree or equivalent
