Procurement Manager – Non Produce | £100K to £120K + 15% Bonus + £6K car allowance + 25 days annual leave + additional benefits
North London / Hertfordshire Office (2-3 days a week)
Overview:
Talent Drive are pleased to be retained on an excellent opportunity working with family owned food service business who are going from strength to strength and have exciting growth plans following a recently appointed Chief Commercial Officer. This is a critical hire to the success of the growth plans as the business is expanding outside the core offering.
As the Procurement Manager for Non Produce (Ambient, Chilled, Frozen Grocery, Dairy, Beverages & Bakery) you will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy across the Group, which includes the subsidiary companies. You will be tasked with taking charge of a very immature category area to help grow the business in line with their growth plans. 73% of the growth will come from outside the company’s core offering (Fresh Produce). As the Procurement Manager for Non Produce you will have a significant impact on the long term strategy of this organisation as one of the first new procurement hires to challenge the status quo to deliver change.
What the role involves:
Will evaluate opportunities to collaborate with buying groups to maximise the companies commercial position
Looking at opportunities to convert customer nominated products into the companies supplied lines
Achieve budgeted revenue and gross margin targets, as set out by the Chief Commercial officer.
Ensure that all activity is consistent with the Group Sales Plan Strategy and clearly co-ordinated and communicated with the senior sales team and all relevant departments prior to implementation.
Attend conferences and seminars in order to network with potential customers
Identifying potential suppliers, visiting, and meeting existing suppliers, building, and maintaining relationships
Negotiate best price on key product categories ensuring quality and technical requirements are met.
Managing suppliers, relationships, both home and abroad.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Sales, Operations, Logistics and Quality teams.
The person we hope to find:
Previous management work experience in Procurement (ideally at least 5 years), preferably in Foodservice, Hospitality or FMCG environment
Multi-category Sourcing experience
Experience of driving change in a procurement function
Great at stakeholder management across the business, comfortable in front of customers, suppliers and senior management
Be able to work proactively and positively with all internal departments in order to create and support a teamwork approach to business development.
Passion combined with commerciality.
