Procurement Manager - 12 Month FTC

This role is a new role within the Octavia organisation, the organisation is on a journey to establish procurement processes and controls. This offers a great opportunity for an ambitious Procurement Manager to come in and help shape the organisations procurement function. You will have support from the Abri Group’s procurement team in which Octavia is reviewing a partnership. The role is a fixed term contract for 12 months with a view to an extension subject to progress partnership. Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage strategic and collaborative procurement projects to ensure effective delivery in line with objectives, requirements and timescales Working closely with colleagues you will lead in developing clear specifications, tender documents, performance criteria and contract documents Lead in the evaluation of tender submissions and supplier selection, ensuring a fair, transparent and fully auditable process Lead on formalising contracts and signature including managing and negotiating any changes to the contract terms safeguarding the business from potential risks Help support commercial processes and change within the business Champion social value and apply social value to each procurement project where relevant Support the business internally and externally raising awareness and understanding of the subject Champion contract management and support contract managers with all aspects of contract management where necessary including; attending regular review meetings and supporting KPI management Maintain a suite of templates and guidance documents for use by colleagues across the group

Previous experience in tendering construction projects
Experience in the use of model forms of contract such as JCT, ACA and NEC
Knowledge Knowledge of public sector procurement
Knowledge of public contract regulations and procedures Knowledge of contract law Qualifications / Skills Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply or experience in similar procurement roles Strong project management skills Strategic in thinking and able to confidently challenge the norm Analytical and good problem solver Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions Excellent team skills and ‘can do’ attitude Excellent communication skills and able to develop strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders The salary for this role is £60,800 per annum with up to 10% pension contribution.
