Concept are delighted to be partnered with a Director of Procurement at a leading West Midlands based health care provider to assist in the recruitment of a Procurement and Contracts Manager. Job overview:

As a Procurement and Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the procurement service to provide value for money solutions and achieve significant savings for the organisation. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies, leading procurement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and change in procurement practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to optimise procurement performance.
  • Lead category management activities and develop robust category strategies.
  • Lead, manage, evaluate, and report on product trials.
  • Monitor contract compliance and improve supplier performance to support cost improvement initiatives.
  • Stay informed about government directives and health care procurement strategies.
  • Represent the Trust at national and regional events and projects.

What you need:

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Thorough understanding of supply chain management, contract processes.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to solve complex contracting problems innovatively.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and IT procurement systems.
  • Effective communication skills across various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support staff development.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in procurement/category management within a large organisation.
  • Experience in leading high-value procurement's from conception to implementation.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement processes and regulations is desirable.
