At Smith+Nephew, we craft and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living!To help us achieve this, we're looking for a Procurement Category Manager to lead activities such as spend, strategic planning and leadership of selected initiatives within the Maintenance, Repair and Operation (MRO) & Engineering Services Category.You will have responsibility for supplier engagement activities, develop strategy as well as establish and proactively lead key business collaborator relationships. You'll lead proactive sourcing projects, influence specification definition & demand management and supervise category specific supplier performance and innovation activities.What will you be doing?Provide input for Procurement Category to advise on functional objective setting.Collect suppliers, market, category, and internal business data.Support the development of Global Category Strategy for MRO & Engineering Services.Communicate Category-specific strategies to relevant partners.Identify key supplier risks and agree on mitigating activities.Support project development and execution based on Category strategies.Ensure timely execution of Category projects aligned with goals.Assist in segmentation and identification of key supplier relationships.Implement and supervise consistent metrics and deliverables.Lead strategic supplier relationships as per segmentation process.Resolve supplier performance risks and issues promptly.What does success look like?Our successful candidate will be educated in a relevant field such as business administration, finance, law or a scientific/technical background. A CIPS or similar Supply chain/Procurement professional qualification would also be advantageous.They'll have a strong working background within a Procurement environment, with extensive experience with supplier relationship management and ownership of spend and savings initiatives across an MRO/Engineering category.You.
