We buy all the goods and services for the Council and manage suppliers, tenders and contracts with an annual spend of £80M. We also support the procurement needs of our whole owned company Norwich City Services Ltd.We are looking for an individual to join as a business partner and act as a senior member of the team on a 1-year fixed term contract.You should be an enthusiastic and experienced procurement professional who will be able to understand the Council's commissioning and procurement demands and proactively contribute to their compliant delivery.You should have strong interpersonal skills and experience of working with a broad range of stakeholders including suppliers, leadership teams and service colleagues. Supporting the management of effective relationships between the Council's services and the procurement team; and delivery of the Councils procurement and contract management strategies.You will be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Being methodical and have a great understanding of public procurement, ideally with experience of working in local government. The council has its own housing stock therefore many contracts are in the property and build category.You will also be an inspiring coach and mentor, as you will have direct line management of approximately 3 procurement officers and/or procurement support officers.We would love to hear from you if you already have significant experience of working in a procurement role, ideally have public sector procurement experience and have CIPS level 4 and above.
