Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our client in Derry/ Londonderry to recruit a new full time and permanent Process Engineer

The primary responsibilities of the Process Engineer are to introduce innovative process engineering and design improvements within key manufacturing operations to improve safety, quality, and yields, increase throughput, and enhance efficiency. Assisting in the smooth introduction of new equipment; this could include testing, trailing and capital justification. The Process Engineer will report into the Senior Process Engineer within the Technical team.

Responsibilities :

Supports Manufacturing Operations in becoming world class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate.
Acquire knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and associated documentation.
Comply with all Health & Safety Policies and instructions and actively contribute to Company efforts to promote safe behaviour and safe systems of work.
Co-ordinate, support, and lead process improvement projects using company recognised CI tools to enhance the overall cost effectiveness of the business.
Writes, conducts, analyses, determines, and reports on new or modified equipment capabilities, qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ), and validations.
Conducts developmental runs and Commercialisation qualification trial runs in conjunction with Research & Development (R&D) and Engineering functions.
Establishes Manufacturing Standard Operating Conditions (SOC) with the appropriate input from the Machine Operators, Supervisors and Technical personnel.
Assists the Product Engineering function in the development of customer and internal specifications. forms as required by Key Area Leaders
Performs Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions for Customer Complaints as assigned.
Lead Risk Management activities for the manufacturing systems and processes including the development and maintenance of FMEAs and Control plans.
Troubleshoots daily production and process problems, communicates with Plant Management Team, Supervisors, and Operators regarding run problems, investigates root causes, recommends, and implements corrective actions.
Identifies, develops, and implements plans associated with, but not limited to, cost reduction, waste reduction, increased throughput, and general operational improvement through the use of Six Sigma Statistical Methods.
Participates in the Learning & Development of machine operators on new equipment installations, equipment modifications and new procedures/systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Will include participating in special projects as identified.

Essential Criteria:

Relevant degree (Engineering or similar, graduate level or above) or significant experience in manufacturing/industrial roles
Experience of effective project co-ordination
Data analytic experience or relevant applied theory
Desirable Criteria:

SAP experience
Demonstrable experience in performing Lean Six Sigma methodology

The working hours are 38 per week, Mon - Thur 08:00 - 17:00 & Fri 08:00 - 12noon however flexibility is required.

The salary range for the Process Engineer will depend on background
