Process Engineer

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Process Engineer and Manager to work on commissioning, configuration, and support for 7-axes CNC machines designed and built by the company. This full-time engineering role is based in Coalville, Leicestershire, but will include occasional travel to global customer sites.

As a Process Engineer, you will manage the electrical team and ensure a cradle-to-grave approach to how our electrical systems are designed and implemented, following all applicable legislation concerning manufacturing and placing machine tools on the market.

In your first few weeks in this Process Engineer role, you can expect to:

• Manage the team of wiremen and controls engineers (currently three staff)
• Design, specification, configuration, and fault-finding of CNC servo drive systems to comply with specifications and international machinery directives (CE/UKCA)
• Support electrical aspects of the in-house machine production
• Produce CE/ UKCA machinery directive certification and relevant technical documentation such as BoM, risk assessment, and diagrams
• Create and Edit Ladder programs
• Keep machine tool safety systems up-to-date.

To apply for this Process Engineer role, you will need five years in a technical role within electrical/controls engineering, especially machinery or system integration. You will also require the following:

• Experience designing complete electrical systems for machine tools
• Experience with CNC servo machine tool systems (preferably Fanuc or Bosch) for design, commissioning, and debugging
• Fully conversant with control loop theory and tuning said loops
• Experience in implementing safety systems for industrial machine tools and implementing systems compliant with the Machinery Directive (EU/UKCA)
• Programming experience with CNC Ladder.
