Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Process Engineering Technical Authority for a permanent role with experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry to support Gas Terminal Operations.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the operations manager, the engineer will provide operations and engineering support to UK gas terminal operations with varied responsibilities including:
Act as focal point for emerging Operational issues, co-ordinating support from relevant functions to implement solutions. Manage process safety risk to ALARP.
Approval role in the operational risk assessment, maintenance deferral and MoC processes
· Conduct regular site visits in execution of routine duties/responsibilities to ensure alignment between the site and Aberdeen operations teams and to manage/monitor specific work programmes.
· Accountable for reporting monthly asset integrity/process safety data
· Investigation and categorising process safety incidents and that improvement plans/initiatives are in place to minimise recurring/future events
· Monitor production practices/procedures and where required work with site operations team to ensure production is optimised.
· Scope and manage small modifications carried out by engineering hub and study work carried out by Wood consulting.
Support to reporting of environmental/emissions data
Support preparation and delivery of shutdown and maintenance activities
Supervision of process engineering team
Liaison with external stakeholders including client, gas shippers and regulators
Participation in/management of process safety reviews such as HAZOP/LOPA
Preparation of reports and presentation of results of technical analysis
Qualifications
Degree in Chemical Engineering preferred or other relevant technical qualification supplemented with practical experience of performing in a similar role.
Chartered engineer (preferred)
Previous experience of process/production operation and/or support. Gas plant experience welcomed
Project management experience of brownfield production enhancement engineering projects.
Experience of customer facing role and engaging with multiple stakeholders
Thorough understanding of operational issues and possess the ability to promote them within a Project or Operational environment to the appropriate level of Management.
Ability to affectively manage resources (personnel, equipment, materials etc) and inspire and motivate a team
Extensive knowledge of industry standards and specifications, engineering and construction practices
Knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation
