Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Islington Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Private Housing Group Manager this role will be: Hybrid N1 1XR

The right candidate will:

* Manage a team responsible for delivering an efficient and effective private Housing Service through enforcement, licensing, advice, and promotion.

* Coordinate the work of the team including allocating work, devising and implement projects and managing performance to meet organisational aims and objectives.

* Lead the future shape and direction the Team through the service planning process, devise and deliver the team’s service plan and monitor and report on team performance against the plan.

* Ensure that service requests including complaints, applications, appeals & contraventions are dealt with in a timely and customer focussed manner.

* Provide expert guidance, leadership, and direction in relation to complex investigations, acting as the Senior Investigating Officer as appropriate, directing resources, evaluating evidence, and presenting expert evidence in court or in tribunals.

* Devise and implement monitoring and enforcement strategies and ensure that appropriate follow up action is taken with respect to unfair practice, fraudulent or criminal activity.

* Ensure that all investigations and enforcement action is consistent with the council’s Enforcement Policy, the Regulator’s Code, RIPA, and the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 and related statutory codes of practice

We require the following:

* Extensive experience of all aspects of private sector housing work including the legal and technical aspects of the application of housing law and property licensing to standards and the regulation of accommodation and the rights and responsibilities of owners and occupiers.

* Extensive experience of providing advice on complex housing cases, promoting tenants’ rights, and promoting landlord/agent engagement. Extensive experience of providing advice on complex housing cases, promoting tenants’ rights, and promoting landlord/agent engagement.
