Principal Technologist - Systems EngineeringMy client, a leading multinational defence company, are currently seeking a "principal technologist – systems engineering "to join the business in a permanent capacity. The role can be based out of my client’s secure sites in Portsmouth or Frimley. - with the requirement to attend your chosen base site approx. 1-2 days a week.Due to the nature of my clients work, candidates must either hold a live SC Clearance or be willing and able to undergo the clearance process.What you’ll be doing:Apply specialist knowledge to enhance, improve and increase knowledge in Combat Systems technologies in order to increase business knowledge and develop future technology areasEngage with academics & specialists within external technology organisationsInvestigate where technology could solve known deficiencies in Combat Systems products/servicesApply opportunities in technology to provide system solutions and performance enhancements to Combat Systems products/servicesAdvise, mentor and guide others in aspects of technology specialismMonitor and influence external technology development (Horizon Scanning)Collaborate with customers and external parties across the maritime domain to represent the client interests and orientate technology development to match Combat Systems business strategy and strategic requirementsYour skills and experiences:Technology Specialist e.g. Machine Learning & AI, preferably with an understanding of Combat SystemsResearch skills to develop knowledge and expertise for business opportunities and highly skilled in analysis and assessmentEffective in identifying, developing and communicating technology solutions to inform technology selection and future opportunitiesExperienced in engineering estimates, specifications, bids and tendersMasters Degree/member of a professional institute preferably at Fellow levelSynergize Consulting is committed to equality and diversity in our workplace.
