Job title:Principal Engineer - Structural EngineeringLocation:Barrow-In Furness (Hybrid working available - minimum 2 days on site per fortnight)Salary:Competitive What you'll be doing:Designing submarine structures by calculation to ensure they meet the required load cases and safety factorsAnalysing submarine structures through Finite Element AnalysisWorking alongside other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated system solutionsGathering evidence to demonstrate compliance of these solutions with safety, function, and performance requirementsAuthoring and reviewing design and analysis reportsPresenting work to design review panels and key stakeholdersYour skills and experiences:Essential:Degree or equivalent experience in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) disciplineAnalytical structural calculation skillsDemonstrable Structural Engineering experienceDesirable:Submarine or Shipbuilding structural design/analysis experienceFinite Element Analysis (FEA) knowledge using Abaqus CAEWelding/Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) knowledgeBenefits:You'll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
