Job Opportunity:
This opportunity would be most suitable for an individual with a Subsea Structural Engineering background. Our client is currently looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join their Global Project Centre London office on a permanent or contract basis.
Role Description:
The Principal Structural Engineer will have responsibility for planning workload, coordinating technical skills, and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality engineering to meet commercial and technical needs. Responsibilities include subsea structure design and analysis throughout different phases of a project, compliance with project plans and engineering standards, and working as part of a team while potentially leading work packages.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of subsea structural design engineering.
Conduct in-place, transportation, lifting, deployment, and retrieval analyses for subsea structures.
Deliver various design reports, analysis, calculations, and fabrication drawings adhering to industry standards and client specifications.
Support package engineering, material procurement, and structural analysis for subsea structures using specialized software.
Coordinate structural engineering support for multi-discipline projects, ensure safety objectives, and mentor junior engineers.
Engage in knowledge sharing, application of engineering standards, and personal CPD.
Requirements:
Candidates should ideally have a Master of Engineering degree along with extensive experience in structural analysis and design, familiarity with industry codes and standards, proficiency in 3D Finite Element Analysis, and effective communication skills. Membership to a relevant professional body and experience within the Subsea industry are also desired.
