Job Opportunity:
This opportunity would be most suitable for an individual with a Subsea Structural Engineering background. Our client is now looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join their Global Project Centre London office on a permanent or contract basis.
Role Description:
You will have responsibility for planning workload, coordinating technical skills, and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality engineering to meet commercial and technical needs. The scope of subsea structure design and analysis will include conceptual evolution of design in research and development, tenders, FEED, and EPCI phases of a project.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialist skills in subsea structural design engineering including design codes and legislative requirements.
Conduct in-place, transportation, lifting, deployment, and retrieval analyses for subsea structures.
Deliver design reports, detailed analysis, and calculations in accordance with industry codes and standards.
Support package engineering, fabrication drawings, and various project submissions.
Coordinate structural engineering support for multi-discipline projects.
Engage in knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and application of engineering standards.
Coach and mentor junior engineers.
Ensure engineering is quality oriented and adheres to safety objectives.
Requirements:
Candidates should ideally have a Master of Engineering degree (MEng) in Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Automotive, or Naval Architecture. Other requirements include extensive experience in structural analysis and design, knowledge of industry codes, and proficiency in software such as STAAD Pro, SACs, Abaqus, or ANSYS.
Additional Skills:
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Mathcad.
Ability to solve technical problems and prioritize work.
Membership to a relevant professional body.
Experience within the Subsea industry.
