Principal Software Systems Engineer

Randstad are partnered with a defence company in Herefordshire who are on the lookout for a Principal Software Systems Engineer on a permanent basis. The vacancy is within their R&D team and you will be developing the next generation of warfare products.

To be successful in this role, you will be required to have experience in taking ownership in system design through the whole lifecycle as well as specifying and developing new products and maintaining existing products.

Essential Skills

• Strong systems engineering background across the full lifecycle
• Proven track record of leading dynamic multi-functional teams using Agile methods
• Broad experience across different applications and technologies
• Design of sophisticated system architectures
• Ability to analyse solutions and make system design trade-offs
• Strong desire to dive deep into system level issues and drive problems to closure in a team-based environment with a proactive attitude
• Familiarity with the challenges of taking a product from early architecture through to production
• Experience with formal Systems Engineering from requirements capture through to verification and validation
• Experience and background in software development delivering complex embedded projects
• Experience delivering standard engineering management plans (e.g. Software Development Plan, System Engineering Management Plan, Configuration Management Plan)

This can be on a hybrid set up and SC clearance is essential.
