Never standing still, we see limitless possibilities for our solutions; and our knowledge sharing, collaboration and innovative thinking are just a few of the ways we fuel our energy for what we do.What we are looking forAn opportunity is available for a staff Principal Project Engineer to join our project engineering and operations team to support the multi-discipline delivery of major energy development studies (typically at conceptual / pre-FEED project stages).We are seeking a forward thinking and experienced consultant to provide value add study management knowledge and experience into the early stages of energy development projects. The consultant will typically lead multi-disciplinary early-phase studies, for our extensive range of clients, for offshore projects in the UK and globally.Genesis globally is managed within core services lines (Early Advisory Solutions, Development Solutions and Asset Lifecycle Solutions) and key markets (Low Carbon, CO2 Management & Renewables and Upstream & Downstream Oil & Gas). The Genesis UK Operating Centre (with offices in Aberdeen and London) is organised into 9 core delivery teams. Service provision would support the Project and Discipline Engineering Delivery Team. This team currently comprises circa 50+; engineers, project engineers and study managers, managed in six core delivery groups including; Project Engineering & Operations / Piping & Layouts, Mechanical and Construction / Electrical / Control, Instrumentation & Telecommunications / Structural, Civil and Marine / Decommissioning.Scope of ServicesThe provided services require Facilities project engineering and management competence with wide ranging brownfield and greenfield modification experience due to the variety of scopes. In general the scope of services shall include:Lead and contribute to front-end multi-discipline engineering studies (including coordination of; multi-discipline engineering inputs, budget cost estimation, and level 2 project execution scheduling);Provide effective interfaces and relationships within / between disciplines, and peers in other project teams and client;Direction and monitoring the execution of work with regard to content and quality of all documentation within the disciplines scope of work;Prepare clear and concise study reports and presentations;Lead project meetings and provide effective performance management of studies;Participate in design, construction, HAZID/HAZOP reviews and technical impact assessments / reviews;Develop cost effective technical solutions using latest industry design criteria and best practice;Input to project pre-FEED work breakdown and packaging, and uncertainty, risk, and opportunity management;Develop cost effective technical solutions using latest industry design criteria and best practice;Interface closely with client project management representatives to ensure client interests are addressed.RequirementsThe service provider(s) is required to have:Previous experience in similar role.Project/Study management experience in the oil and gas or energy transition field.Proven strong HSSE leadership, risk management skills and process safety awareness.Knowledge and experience of project planning and progress monitoring/forecasting.Experience of new energies / energy transition project development is an advantage.Able to drive / support decision processes.It is essential that applicants must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.We invite you to get to learn more about our company by visiting www.genesisenergies.com

Your tasks will involve leading engineering studies, performing engineering studies and development projects for various markets such as Upstream, Downstream, Renewables, Low Carbon Energy, and New Markets. In addition, you will handle materials and corrosion-related project activities, prepare project engineering documents, lead new business development efforts, and provide mentorship to more junior engineers. The role involves independent operation, performing assessments and writing reports with support from the Study Manager. Proficiency in industry modelling and analysis techniques is preferred. The work encompasses conceptual studies, design, operational support, and decommissioning. The Consultant engineer must interface with clients, engage in marketing and business development, and represent Genesis in industry working groups. Essential requirements include experience in Technical Safety, Risk, and Loss Prevention, an Engineering degree, workshop management skills, execution of Risk studies, and knowledge of regulatory frameworks. Advantageous experience includes Functional Safety, tools like PHAST and Flaresim, and expertise in CCUS, Hydrogen, and Wind.
