Wentworth James Group has engaged with a World leading Automotive OEM & an Electrified Powertrain R&D specialist based in Birmingham, West Midlands. Employment of 10,000 globally with exciting future plans opening up in new markets. We are seeking a�Principal Power Electronics Systems Engineer�to head up a new project within�SICONSilicon�Carbide�Inverters with�Optimised�Nano-modules on a permanent basis to join a fantastic team.



Requirements




  • Strong numeracy and literacy

  • Five to ten years experience is required and preferably some of this will be in automotive.

  • Good logical reasoning

  • Deep experience of Power Electronics ideally including Automotive Inverters

  • Knowledge of power electronic devices and how they are integrated into the HV electrical system.

  • Experience of developing hardware to meet IEC 61508 (or domain specific variant, e.g. ISO 26262)

  • Experience of specification, development and test of power electronic device such as inverters

  • Experience of working with teams of engineers designing and testing power electronics

  • Evidence of achieving results through effective work against objectives

  • Good communication skills



Duties & Responsibilities




  • Lead the capture of requirements and support the development of power electronics hardware and software traction drive and power conversion systems

  • Lead/support the testing of power electronics hardware and software

  • Capturing and analysing requirements from different stakeholders

  • Disseminate requirements to appropriate teams for action

  • Support the development of electrical and electronics architecture for e-drive applications including HV harness and connectors schematics

  • Prepare/develop test plans and methods

  • Provide expertise for investigations and problem-solving activities

  • Lead the System DFMEA and support functional safety analysis

  • Ensure compliance with relevant EMC/EMI standards

  • Managing the technical delivery of suppliers
