Principal Plant Performance Engineer - Energy Transition UKWe invite you to bring your technical knowledge and experience of working on projects in the Energy sector into play as you provide quality engineering solutions on a range of projects in the power generation and energy transition sectors, including hydrogen production and “Power to X”. To succeed in this role you must be a Chartered Engineer with significant post-graduate experience in power generation projects and plant performance. Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies, and people around the world.You will join our Energy Transition (UK) departmentAs our new Principal Plant Performance Engineer, you will be part of an experienced and highly skilled, diverse and multi-disciplinary technical team working alongside a number of project managers to deliver client value and solutions in the energy transition sector. Our team seeks to improve the efficiency and sustainability of power generation plants, whether these are new-build or aging assets. We work on a range of low-carbon and renewable power generation projects, energy storage and a growing pipeline of hydrogen projects. The department is characterized by a great team spirit and collaborative mindset, working together with the rest of Ramboll, both in the UK and internationally.Our services range from client advisory through to EPCm delivery wherein we take on and deliver key aspects of projects including design to support the client’s delivery model. Transition to green energy is our primary focus area.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:Plant modelling for inclusion in feasibility studies, conceptual / detail designs and contributions to associated reports.Preparation of technical specifications and schedules for inclusion in tender enquiry documents, including plant performance guarantees and evaluation criteriaTechnical evaluation and clarification of tenders.Reviewing contractors’ design submissions in accordance with contract specifications, applicable standards, regulations and codes of practice.Assessing power plant performance, reviewing performance test procedures, witnessing plant performance tests/reports, and producing independent test reports.Preparing contributions for Ramboll responses to expressions of interest, registrations, pre-qualifications and proposals.Working closely with the assigned Project Manager to ensure that deliverable quality, cost and deadlines are metDiscussions with clients, tenderers, contractors, manufacturers, and lending agencies.Collaborating within Ramboll across business units, nationally and across geographies to share technical knowledge, lessons learnt and for staff development opportunities.Encouraging new ideas and initiatives that improve how we delivery our services and carry out our in-house functionsYour starting point for constant growthFrom the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company.
