Principal Planning Enforcement Officer (Development Management) –
Salary: Scale PO4-7, £38223 - £41418 per annum

If you’re looking for a challenging and varied role in a busy Development Management team, we’d like to hear from you. It’s a very exciting time to join the Council, with a newly adopted Local Plan and an ambitious capital programme.
We are looking for a Principal Planning Enforcement Officer to assist the team in delivering an effective and efficient planning enforcement service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking to play a pivotal role.
As part of this role, you will investigate enforcement complaints, including the most complex and sensitive cases, issue notices and lead on prosecutions where necessary, and assist the Team Leader with management and mentoring of the team.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, motivated, and organised person. You will need to be a team player, with investigation and research skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The post will involve site inspections and therefore you will need to have a full UK driving licence and the mobility to travel the Borough. To be eligible for this role, candidates must be qualified to at least degree level in a planning related discipline and hold (or be eligible for) membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
What we offer
In addition to the stated pay we are offering 30 days annual leave (35 after 5 years or more continuous Local Government Service), membership and contributions towards the West Yorkshire Pension Scheme, hybrid working (requiring presence in the office for a minimum of two days per week), and flexi-time.
