An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Audiologist to apply for band 7 Principal paediatric Audiologist role.We are an IQIPS accredited department and strive to deliver a high quality service. We are seeking enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to lead and continue to develop the excellent standards of Audiology care .You need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to actively support the service in delivering a high-quality patient's care.You must have experience in the management of complex and non-routine case load in thespecialist areas of paediatric audiology. This includes working with patients and families, and working with a multidisciplinary team.This role involves highly specialistpatient care. All such care will be provided in an effective, caring and compassionate service to patients. The post holder is required to abide by the NHS values and the Constitution.Main duties of the jobAnalyse test results and information elicited from the patient and significant others to propose and agree the management plan. This must take into account many different factors including duration and aetiology of deafness, functional ability, motivation, additional difficulties (such as visual impairment, cerebral palsy etc.), socialcircumstances, employment situation, educational placement and family support.Identify when further investigations are necessary, and make appropriate referrals in a timely manner.Analyse highly complex test results which may be conflicting or incomplete and make judgements on the most appropriate management of these patients.Adapt techniques to suit the individual patient's need.Conduct Auditory Brainstem Response and/or Auditory Steady State Response Testing.Work as an independent practitioner without supervision providing clinical services directly to patients.Creating individual rehabilitation plans for each patient whilst maintaining a flexible approach and responsive attitude to patient need,Establishing a good rapport and work with patients of all age, including gaining their co-operation in clinics and self-management at home.Verifying and validate hearing aid prescriptions for adult and paediatric patients using real ear and coupler measurements.Providing training both in-house and to external groups.Supervise junior staff.Actively participate in Audit and quality assessment tools.About usLondon North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond.Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people.We run major acute services at:Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments (A& E) in the country.
