The Energy Division at ARM are currently recruiting a Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer, to be based out of either Bristol, Aldershot or Glasgow for our Civil Consultancy Client.

Job Overview:
As a Safety Engineer within, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of major defence-related programmes in the UK. This role will involve providing support for new build facilities, upgrades, life extension projects, and decommissioning activities in the defence nuclear sector. You will be involved in all aspects of these projects, from concept through to detailed design. Flexibility in work location is essential, as you may be required to work on-site at client facilities as needed. Join the team and contribute to the exciting and varied projects we have on the horizon.

Some of your duties will include:

• Provide technical leadership for Radiological and Probabilistic Assessment
• Produce nuclear technology reports
• Lead safety assurance teams
• Safety report production

What do you need to succeed?

• Strong background in safety case production and hazard analysis, with extensive experience within the nuclear and defence industry.

• Able to produce and review high-quality technical reports.

• Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline.
