Job DescriptionDue to rapid growth and expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Technical Engineering department, for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the team.The Principal Mechanical Engineer will report to the Technical Director and will have the following key responsibilities:of all technical engineering design procedures and resources.that all technical engineering work is completed to all relevant internal and external procedures & processes.and implementing opportunities for improvement and innovation in the mechanical engineering processes and practices.and approving the mechanical engineering work of engineers and subcontractors.in accordance with Company working practices, to conduct activities in accordance with the Enshore HSEQS requirements and to meet all legal obligations.The Principal Mechanical Engineer is expected to improve the work processes and be a technical governance for the discipline. The scope will include studies and tenders as well as live projects.Key Tasks:the conceptual and detailed design of mechanical systems and components for offshore projects including trenching asset and vessel equipment.calculations, simulations, and testing to verify the functionality, performance, and reliability of the mechanical design.technical specifications, datasheets, drawings, and reports.with other engineers, designers, contractors, and clients to ensure the quality and timely delivery of the mechanical engineering deliverables.and approve the mechanical engineering work of junior engineers and subcontractors.technical support and troubleshooting for the installation, commissioning, and operation of the mechanical systems and components.and implement opportunities for improvement and innovation in the mechanical engineering processes and practices.the technical engineering department workload and resources planning.Key Behaviours:a strong mechanical engineering background.a good understand of hydraulic systems and basic hydraulic design.communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsin 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks and Inventor.in 2D CAD software such as AutoCAD.of relevant codes and standards, such as API, ASME, ISO, and DNVmechanical analysis, such as stress, fatigue, vibration, and thermal.Technical Engineering projects, budgets, and schedules.communication and interpersonal skills.to work under pressure of tight timeframes.own initiative and work flexibly.to work with the minimum supervision, solution provider.solutions and creative problem solving - able to suggest and develop new methods and ways of working.ability to organize and prioritize own work and as such have responsibility for discrete work packages ongoing simultaneously.
