Responsibilities of Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP):
As a result of significant growth in demand, the company is looking to recruit a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer (MEP) to manage and expand a small design team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be based out of an office in Euston and on client sites.
Key Duties Include:
Management of a team of M&E design engineers, supervising their project-related activities
Liaise with client stakeholders to develop bespoke solutions
Develop client proposals in partnership with the commercial leadership team
Develop project, resource, and budget plans with the PMO team
Prioritize projects and resources to ensure project deadlines are met
Work with the Engineering Director to develop client-specific solutions
Undertake detailed surveying of buildings to identify energy efficiency opportunities
Prepare energy audit/review reports and recommendations
Perform building analysis using simulation software
Develop conceptual and detailed mechanical services designs
Create decarbonization plans for existing buildings
Prepare GHG emissions reports
Perform feasibility studies for renewable power and heat generation
Create financial models for building services upgrade projects
Oversee building services upgrade and refurbishment projects with PMO team
Deliver ESOS assessments (Training provided)
Conduct Non-Domestic EPCs up to Level 5 (Training provided)
A varied role, the company requires a candidate who can demonstrate versatility and creativity to help manage the decarbonization of buildings. The role will be challenging and rewarding, and the successful candidate will be given exposure to all areas of Net Zero planning in real estate.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar. They will be able to demonstrate experience in developing mechanical building services designs, undertaking surveys of Mechanical & Electrical Building services, and managing and coordinating an M&E design team. Proficiency in using AUTO CAD and strong MS Office skills, including Excel, are required.
Benefits:
In return, the candidate will benefit from a basic salary ranging from £75k-£95k (DOE) basic plus 25 Days Annual Leave and Pension. They will also benefit from ongoing training and development, combined with the opportunity to progress in line with company growth.
