Principal Mechanical Engineer
Location: West Lakes or Warrington
Salary: £60 Per Hour
About Us:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team. Expertise demonstrable in one or more specific specialist areas relevant to the engineering discipline with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills.
Responsibilities:
Designing and Developing Mechanical Systems: This involves conceptualizing, designing, and developing mechanical systems, components, or products. Engineers may work on anything from consumer goods to industrial machinery.
Analysis and Simulation: Conducting analysis and simulations to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems. This can include finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and other analytical tools.
Prototyping and Testing: Building prototypes of mechanical systems or components for testing and validation. Engineers may also be responsible for designing test procedures and analyzing test results.
CAD Modeling and Drafting: Using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed drawings, models, and schematics of mechanical components or systems.
Material Selection and Specification: Selecting appropriate materials for mechanical components based on factors such as strength, durability, and cost. Engineers may also be responsible for specifying material properties and manufacturing processes.
Manufacturing Support: Providing support to manufacturing teams during the production of mechanical components or systems. This can involve troubleshooting production issues, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring quality control.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with other engineers, designers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure that mechanical systems meet project requirements and objectives.
Compliance and Standards: Ensuring that mechanical systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Engineers may also be responsible for obtaining certifications or approvals for their designs.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Estimating the cost of materials, labor, and other resources required for the design, development, and production of mechanical systems. Engineers may also be involved in budgeting and cost control activities.
Documentation and Reporting: Creating and maintaining documentation such as design specifications, technical reports, and engineering change orders. Engineers may also be responsible for communicating project status and updates to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in mechanical designs, processes, and systems. Engineers may be involved in research and development activities to explore new technologies and methodologies.
Project Management: Managing projects from initiation to completion, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management. Engineers may also be responsible for coordinating the activities of multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
