Our Enterprise Architecture Team is at the forefront of identifying and developing innovative solutions that improve service delivery across the council.At Derbyshire County Council, we recognise that our workforce is our greatest asset, and we are currently looking for inspired and proactive people who are committed to new ways of thinking and working and you will enjoy an excellent range of benefits at Derbyshire County Council.Key responsibilities of this role are:Manage ICT Cyber Security Service area to meet service priorities and lead an effective service responsive to the needs of the organisation.Work with the Head of Service and ICT Cyber Security team to help create and manage a framework of best practice, procedures and documentation which support the delivery of the function and ensure processes are in place to enable continuous review and improvement.Work closely with Solutions Architecture, Data Management, ICT Operations and Applications teams to establish the Council’s requirements for cyber and data security. Establish the relevant plans, procedures and to design and manage architectural best practice and principles to support this.Ensure programmes and processes are in place to schedule and enable the ongoing assessment of security and also ensure the implementation of remedies are actioned, for example, penetration testing, the accreditation of ICT Cyber Essentials and the standards required to obtain the annual Public Service Network accreditation as well as best practice recommendations made by Microsoft or other third party providers.Maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of the latest security tools for ICT and best practice including the latest development and threats and ensure these are addressed and remedies are put in place.What skills and experience do you need to have:Substantial experience of managing an ICT Cyber Security function in a large complex organisation.Extensive knowledge of ICT Cyber Security strategies, principles and concepts and experience in delivery them.Extensive experience in the definition and review the ongoing roles, responsibilities, identity management, access controls and the impact on the organisational, architectural and security best practice, considering business need, delivering clear design recommendation for operations, and applications teams to implement.Proven leadership skills to inspire, motivate and develop team members and drive a performance improvement culture.Experience of being the authority for all cyber effort and considerations within the ICT Service and be the go-to authority on all security (cyber and policy) related matters.These lists are not exhaustive, take a look at our comprehensive job profile for more detail.
