Principal Health, Safety & Fire Consultant
RPS are seeking a Principal Health, Safety & Fire Consultant to join the Health, Safety and Risk division.
You will undertake a wide range of differing health and safety risk assessments and high-level fire risk assessments.This includes working with our commercial, residential, industrial and retail clients and will require regional and UK wide travel as appropriate. Responsible for taking the lead in client specific projects and client management.

About The Team:
The RPS Risk team has been a leading provider of defence safety and risk consultancy services to clients in the UK for over 30 years. We provide our core safety and environmental assessment services, including management support and independent audit to both MOD and defence supply chain organisations.
What you’ll be doing:
Deliver on client specific projects and competent person roles for clients as directed.
Preparation of health and safety and fire risk assessments in accordance with legislative requirements.
Development of retrospective fire strategy reports for clients.
To be able to provide robust health, safety and fire safety advice to clients.
Preparation of gap analysis reports and subsequent development of health and safety and fire safety management systems.
Delivery of in-house health, safety and fire safety awareness training courses to clients.
Carry out occasional oversees (European) health, safety and fire safety risk assessments.
Carry out technical reviews of consultant health, safety and fire reports.
Keep up to date with current legislation and advise clients on compliance requirements.
Who we’re looking for:
Strong technical knowledge of health, safety and fire legislation for commercial, residential, manufacturing and retail sectors.
Ability to deliver toolbox talks on site safety.
An accredited training qualification and the ability to write and deliver training packages face-to-face and on Microsoft teams.
High level of fire safety technical knowledge.
The ability to be self-motivated and target driven.
Good inter-personnel and communication skills.
Self-motivated and target driven.
Type four fire risk assessment and DSEAR experience – desirable.
Because of the nature of the work we undertake, this post is required to meet special nationality rules and therefore is only open to British Citizens (as defined in the British Nationality Act 1981). All selected candidates will also be expected to hold SC or DV clearance.

What happens next?
The selection process is likely to be a two-stage competency and behavioural interview. Initial interview via MS Teams and then if successful followed by an interview at the office.
