You'll be at the forefront of managing and developing the city's diverse property portfolio, from retail units through to allotments, parks and gardens and more - join a forward-thinking, diverse, and ambitious corporate property team!HAYS are delighted to be working in partnership with the council to present an exciting new permanent opportunity for a Principal Estates Surveyor.Your new roleAs a Principal Estates Surveyor, you will be an integral part of a team managing a diverse property portfolio which includes both operational and commercial properties with a range of occupiers including both corporate tenants and local traders. You'll lead a small team, whilst contributing to property management and professional activities, including landlord & tenant negotiations.You will also:Undertake line management duties for a graduate surveyor, including appraisals, performance, and personal development training.Provide appropriate leadership support to a graduate surveyor to enable them to work towards achieving membership of RICS.Carry out day-to-day commercial property management duties.Become a strategic partner, playing a lead role in the development of strategies to meet service and corporate priorities.What you'll need to succeedIf you have a passion for property, an eye for detail and a drive and motivation to improve the environment, then this could be a fantastic next step for you - there is no requirement to have worked for a local authority previously or within the public sector before. You will need to hold a degree or equivalent qualification within a property related area, and ideally you will be a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. An ability to lead, develop and motivate a team to deliver excellent levels of customer service will be important.What you'll get in returnIn return, you will receive a salary of up to £51,301 per annum.
