JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. The Principal Electrical Engineer will execute electrical engineering for various project ranging from Concept studies through to detail design engineering for electrical power systems for onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities. Complete engineering designs, calculations, specification and requisition of equipment, whilst ensuring designs comply with inherently safe design concepts.Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through:
Executing assigned scopes of work Providing discipline expertise to the business Supporting and supervising task delegation to team Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables including complex problems. Completes almost any engineering tasks with minimal guidance and direction. May serve as the primary discipline engineer or discipline technical authority on projects with small to medium complexity.Applies specific area(s) of expertise in own discipline areaRESPONSIBILITIESDuties include:Provide input to estimates and schedulesEnsure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations and proceduresEnsure work is completed within the agreed budgets and timescalesIdentify scope and/or schedule changes in accordance with change control proceduresDirect and guide designers to produce and issue engineering deliverables in both 2D and 3D formatsCarryout Originating and Checking of engineering and design documentation in line with proceduresAdhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.Monitor compliance with competence standardsTechnically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional developmentProvide discipline support to the businessEnsuring learning opportunities are captured and realisedKnowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislationProficient in scope definition.Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to respective teamManagement of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activitiesQUALIFICATIONSQualifications:BSc, B.Eng. or equivalent professional qualificationorHNC / HND in engineering or equivalent with relevant considerable experienceExperience:Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and positionSkills:Intellectually capable, can substantiate the ability to apply theory in a particular context.Professional demeanour, interpersonal skillsABOUT USWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
