Principal Electrical Engineer - Asset Solutions

Role Context:

You will join the Asset Solution team, which is a multidisciplinary team that works across all regions and industries to provide support in the areas of asset management, concept and pre-FEED and brownfield modification.

Engineering personnel are involved in a wide range of study related to existing electrical equipment as well in the design, of electrical equipment and comprehensive analysis of electrical designs to ensure inherently safe systems.

Project

Your skills and expertise will be utilised across a range of domestic and international projects, starting in the bid phase, continuing through to award, start up and execution.

This role can be based anywhere in the UK, with remote working and occasional visits to the office.

You'll be:

  • Executing Concept and Front-End engineering activities and Technical Studies andMaintaining the required technical quality of work
  • identifying scope and schedule changes and ensuring that designs comply with relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures
  • providing technical electrical engineering expertise within the reliability space to support consultancy projects and perform RAM analysis, FMECA, RCM studies.
  • performing electrical system obsolescence studies and supporting life extension studies for all areas of electrical engineering
  • improving the effectiveness of maintenance schedules based on risk/reliability analysis and investigating causes of equipment failure/ reliability events
  • carrying out criticality studies and further developing spare parts management for existing and new plants and supporting Asset Management Maturity Assessment.

You'll have:

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in appropriate engineering subject
  • competency in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
  • competency in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
  • competency in use of analytical methods used within discipline including background for analysis programs.

It would be great if you also came with:

  • Operational Experience
  • experience in performing reliability studies (i.e. RAM, FMECA, RCM)
  • experience performing electrical equipment obsolescence studies
  • knowledge of computerised maintenance management systems
  • previous familiarity with concept, FEED and detailed design engineering
  • knowledge of digital tools, programming languages is considered an advantage
  • experience in the wind sector will be considered an advantage.
