Principal Design Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a project team responsible for developing and delivering engineering solutions from feasibility to detailed engineering design for Electricity Transmission and Distribution Projects (33 kV and above).
If you have experience with National Grid OHL projects and relevant UK experience then this could be the role for you.
We are looking for an experienced design engineer to undertake and be responsible for the design and specification of steel overhead line structures and overhead line design systems. You would take responsibility for project management and ensure the achievement of all deliverables in a timely manner, including financial management and attending site meetings where appropriate. You would also lead the Project Design Team and provide engineering design support to the development team during NDP4.2 (Select Option) and 4.
You will:
Be competent in the use of industry software such as PLS CADD, PLS Tower, SAPS or other similar packages.
Have a working knowledge of relevant national and industry standards such as BS EN 50341, the ENATS suite and client specific.
Have typically, 8-10 years minimum post-graduate industry experience and ideally have 3 – 5 years’ experience with National Grid OHL projects, or 5 – 10 years’ general OHL industry experience in the UK.
Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related engineering discipline, such as Civil, Mechanical or ElectricalEngineering. A-level or equivalent in Maths.
Have aspirations for or working towards membership of a relevant professional body, such as MICE, MIStructE, MIET
