Principal Consultant, Solutions ArchitectureFull-timeOur architecture practice is a fast-growing community of industry leading experts. The practice covers all aspects of architecture for large scale technology estates, providing architecture and solutions for complex transformation, cloud migration, technology consolidation and modernisation, M&A and enterprise architecture definition and management.We deliver advisory, technology vision and strategy, technology roadmaps, technology due diligence, enterprise architecture and architecture governance using our proven framework and processes.A solution architect is in-charge of the overall technical vision and solution for a particular business problem. They design, describe and manage the solution design and govern the delivery of the solution against the intended vision.Due to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance.This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have beenresident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months.As an employer we believe in facilitating a flexible work pattern whilst taking into consideration operational requirements, client and individual needs. We are proud of our hybrid work pattern that typically sees employees in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week.Although your base location will be Cheltenham,you should be able to easily commute to our Londonoffice. We welcome applicants with different perspectives, skills, life experiences and backgrounds, and are proud to have an organisational culture where employees can bring their authentic selves to work.Key responsibilities of the role are summarised below:Define creative solutions for business problems, holistically addressing functional and non-functional requirementsDefine the architectural roadmaps for systems and business servicesEffectively describe solutions using industry standard modelling notationsDefine and document standards and guidelines to direct the solution deliveryEnsure that the finished product conforms to the architectural principles and standardsProvide architectural and technical leadershipContribute to the practice development through thought leadership and development of innovative services and offeringsParticipate in business development activities, bids and development of innovative offerings.Participate in thought leadership about Architecture and Digital TransformationAt 6point6 a Solution Architect will be expected to manage small teams within the CTO function delivering to clients.Performance management of others, and support their ongoing development and/or mentorship may be required as part of the role.The successful candidate will have:Strong working knowledge of open source, open standards and cloud technologiesGood understanding of architectural concepts, methodologies and approachesExcellent working knowledge of design patterns and modelling notations such as Archimate, UML and BPMNGood knowledge of integration techniques, architecture patterns and non-functional driversStrong experience of leading development teams from a design and technical basisQuality Assurance skills to assess the quality and completeness of deliverablesKnowledge and demonstrable experience of both traditional and agile delivery methodsAbility to understand and challenge designsAs a technology consultancy, we look for people who can deliver both exceptional technical solutions and work as true partners to the organisations we support.
