Job Title: Principal Clinical Scientist – Nuclear Medicine TeamLocation: BarkingType: PermanentHours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per weekSalary: £56,388 - £62,785 per annumSanctuary Personnel are seeking a Principal Clinical Scientist to join our client's esteemed Nuclear Medicine department. Reporting to the Speciality Manager - Oncology and under the guidance of the Head of Nuclear Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and safety standards of their Nuclear Medicine services.About Our Client:They are a prominent healthcare provider delivering exceptional care across diverse London boroughs and beyond. Develop and implement a robust quality assurance programme for all Nuclear Medicine equipment.Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practices within the department.Oversee the administration of radionuclide therapies.Provide supervision and training to junior staff members, including clinical scientists, nurses, radiographers, and technicians.Contribute to the management of departmental documentation and quality management systems.Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and enhance imaging workflows and software applications.Participate in research and development initiatives aligned with objectives.Facilitate safe operation of the radiopharmacy and ensure adherence to dispensing protocols.Contribute to the creation and review of clinical protocols in line with regulatory standards.Actively engage in risk assessment and incident investigations within the department.Provide radiation safety guidance to patients, caregivers, and staff members.
Requirements:
Honours degree in Medical Physics or equivalent.HCPC State Registered Clinical Scientist.Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., IPEM).Minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience in Nuclear Medicine.In-depth knowledge of UK legislation pertaining to radioactive materials in healthcare settings.Proficiency in ionising radiation safety principles and quality assurance practices.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.Flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules, including weekends and early starts.
