An exciting job opportunity has arisen to recruit an experienced 8b Clinical Psychologist to join our newly commissioned Counter Terrorism Clinical Consultancy Service (CTCCS). The CTCCS is a partnership service between Counter Terrorism Policing and the NHS. The multidisciplinary forensic mental health team delivers a service that aims to identify and address the mental health needs of individuals who are managed by CT case officers, thereby mitigating CT risk and improving the mental health and wellbeing of those individuals. Referrals to the team include adults and young people from diverse backgrounds and a broad range of presenting needs and risks. The CTCCS is a formulation-based service and the team have enhanced working knowledge of NHS and third sector services and experience of navigating care pathways and multiagency working across a range of services including health, social care and criminal justice.Main duties of the jobYou will work alongside a very experienced team of Clinical Psychologists, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, Clinical Nurse Specialists and embedded in Police. In addition to your own cases, you will be a source of knowledge and expertise, providing consultation to counter-terrorism case officers and other members of the team to support complex case formulations and recommendations. A key aspect of the role is to liaise with professionals from a range of agencies, in partnership with CTCOs, to make appropriate referrals, promote engagement and provide specialist case consultation and training. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working with adults and / or young people with mental disorders, psychological difficulties and neurodiversity and complex needs and risks across forensic mental health settings, including community, custody and secure hospitals. Groups that commonly face barriers and exclusions from mental services or Specialist relevant knowledge, including neurodiversity, migrants, refugees, asylum seekers and separated children, and working with hard to reach groups would be an advantage. Please note this is a national service and therefore there will be an expectation of regular travel to other national hubs/sites, including overnight stays.
