Our client who are based on the outskirts of Leeds require a Principal civil engineer that has experience in drainage and related civil engineering design works.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
This role is office based, and will include visits to construction and project site as well as attendance at client meetings.
This is a technical, project management and supervisory role and your responsibilities will be; Delivery of civil engineering and drainage elements of projects. The production of technical reports and drawings and technical accuracy of the same. Mentoring and supervision of staff within your team as the role develops, Involvement in internal peer reviews in conjunction with Technical Directors. Undertake schematic and detailed design of drainage networks and production of hydraulic calculations and modelling of the same. Ensuring the appropriate level of design information is produced at the correct time. You will be responsible for the financial performance for the civil engineering aspects of your projects, and the identification of additional work that may require further fees to be agreed. Visiting sites and attending site meetings. Involvement in internal and external project design meetings. Develop positive relationships with colleagues and other professionals to agree on safe designs and their coordination with the required design intent. Maintaining key relationships with existing clients. To be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge in respect of Building Regulations, Health and Safety and technical design. Liaise with and manage external stakeholders, eg LLFA / EA / Utilities companies. Identify the need for further work by specialist, eg Road Safety Audits, Flood Modelling etc. Depending on experience, you may carry out the function of internal project manager, the responsibilities of this are provided on a supplementary page
