Job Description:
Our client is a group of well-established, highly trusted consulting engineers working in the Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Energy Disciplines. They are seeking a Principal / Associate Level Sustainability Consultant who will play an integral part in growing their sustainability business.
You will lead a team of 5 sustainability consultants in Edinburgh and join a team of 12 across the UK. Your role will include responsibilities such as:
People Management & Development
Co-ordination of resources
Preparing fee proposals and submissions
Acting as a technical lead for clients
The portfolio of work is varied with 80% working in partnership with the building services engineering team and 20% independent of this. Projects vary from small Passivhaus residential developments to £50 million Higher Education projects, New Build Laboratory projects, and the very interesting and challenging arena of sustainable heritage alteration projects. There are also large-scale masterplan projects being undertaken.
You will work closely with the Mechanical Engineering team on the decarbonisation of office refurbishments and new builds (NAEBERS) and be involved from RIBA stage 0, with the opportunity to attend design team meetings.
Other typical works to be involved in include:
Carbon Assessment / Embodied Carbon reports
SBEM Analysis
TM52 & TM59 Analysis
Detailed Energy Analysis TM5
What you'll need to succeed:
Building Physics Related degree
Experience of working in the Consulting Engineering environment
Mentoring/Supporting People Development (or a passion to be involved in this)
Experience of managing resources
Preparation of Submissions
Client Engagement
