the Head of Engineering. As a predominantly remote team we work autonomously,
operating in 3-week iterations and collaborating closely with other teams such as;
User Experience Design, Customer Service & Marketing.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Principal App Engineer to join our
team. As the Principal App Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading our
mobile app development efforts, focusing on both iOS and Android platforms. This
position combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, making it an
exciting opportunity for an individual who thrives in a challenging and
collaborative environment. What we're looking for: Technical Expertise:
As a Principal App Engineer, you should have a deep
understanding of mobile app development, with proven experience in both iOS
and Android platforms. You will be responsible for setting technical direction,
architecture, and standards for our mobile applications.
Leadership Skills:
We are looking for a candidate with strong leadership
qualities. You will lead a talented team of app developers that will be hired by
you. Guiding them in designing and implementing high-quality, scalable, and
maintainable code. Your ability to mentor and inspire a team will be crucial for
the success of our mobile app projects.
Innovative Problem Solver:
The ideal candidate will be a creative problem
solver, capable of addressing complex challenges in the mobile app
development landscape. Your ability to stay updated on industry trends and
incorporate innovative solutions into our projects will be highly valued.
Collaborative Approach:
Collaboration is at the heart of our development
process. We are looking for someone who can effectively collaborate with our
full-stack team as well as cross-functional teams, including product owners,
UX, and Customer Experience, to deliver exceptional mobile app experiences.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills are essential in this role.
You should be able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-
technical stakeholders, fostering clear communication and understanding
across the organisation.
With bonus points for: Previous Leadership Experience:
If you have prior experience leading mobile
app development teams, that would be a significant advantage. Demonstrated
success in mentoring, coaching, and building high-performing teams will set
you apart.
Contributions to Open Source:
Any contributions to the mobile app
development community or open-source projects will be considered a strong
bonus. We value individuals who actively engage in the broader developer
community.
Experience with Emerging Technologies:
Familiarity with emerging
technologies such as augmented reality in the context of mobile app
development is a plus. We are keen on individuals who are forward-thinking
and can help us stay at the forefront of technological advancements.
