The School and Role

This Primary SEND Alternative Provision, based in South Tyneside is looking to appoint a passionate Primary SEMH Teacher to work at the Primary site in Key Stage 1 and 2 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this Primary SEND Alternative Provision as part of an established team, the desired Primary SEMH Teacher will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviour. This full time Primary SEMH Teacher role is long term from March ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

The school is a fully inclusive place of learning which ensures that all pupils achieve their potential personally, socially, emotionally, physically and educationally. The school teaches basic skills to become successful and confident learners by delivering a personalised learning programme which will equip pupils to become responsible citizens. The school is a short-stay provision which provides placements according to the individual needs.

Requirements

The desired Primary SEMH Teacher will have;


  • - Experience of working with primary school aged children
  • - Experience of working with pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour
  • - A passion for the progress of SEND primary school pupils
  • - An ability to work as part of a team
  • - QTS/QTLS
