Overview:
The Event and Press Relations Manager will have two main roles.
First, you will be responsible for designing and executing Sapio’s annual event and conference plan. This involves coordinating and executing all regional events across North America, Europe, and beyond. It also includes producing event materials, collateral, and merchandise, managing booth setup/teardown, shipping, and logistics, and collaborating with sales staff before, during and after to ensure a successful event and help them generate high-quality sales leads.
Secondly, the role involves managing and coordinating our relationship with the Press and Media with the support of Sapio’s Press Agency. You will lead the creation and press calendar, announcements, and press engagement via editorials/ media/ events/ social/ etcetera, extending the reach and awareness of Sapio’s message in our target market. The goal is to maximize relevant and positive coverage in target media, contributing to our brand awareness and revenue growth amongst key decision-makers and influencers at our clients and prospects.
Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Management:
Organize and coordinate all aspects of regional events, including conference and venue selection, vendor management, event staffing, and on-site execution.
Event Performance:
regularly report on event performance and make recommendations to adapt our event plan to ensure we maximize the efficacy of our marketing spend.
Material Production:
Oversee the creation and distribution of all event materials, ensuring they align with Sapio's branding and communication goals.
Booth and Logistics Coordination:
Design and manage booth setups, including transportation, setup, and breakdown, ensuring a professional presence at all events.
Sales Coordination and Collaboration:
Work closely with sales teams to ensure they are well briefed before events, well supported at events, and gather leads and feedback post events.
Press Relations Management:
Serve as the primary contact for our Press Agency, coordinating efforts to secure high-quality coverage in relevant media outlets.
Media Strategy Development:
Develop and implement strategies to enhance media coverage, including at events involving, but not limited to, press releases, press interviews, byline articles, awards submissions, and more.
Performance Metrics:
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of event and press activities, continuously analyzing data to improve our outreach strategies.
Requirements:
Proven experience in event management and press relations, preferably in the life sciences sector.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in CRM and event management software.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Science or a related field.
