Your Role
Capgemini Engineering are looking for a Pre-sales Software Solution Architect whose main responsibility will be to develop and deliver world-class engineering software solutions that will support our clients in their transformation of their entire value chain, and dual transition to digital and sustainable technology.
You will be a proven and enthusiastic Technical Leader and software Architect with a visible passion for the software solutions we deliver, capable of inspiring our clients and our delivery teams, as well as convincing others to support you to achieve your objectives
You will understand our client needs, assess their current software solutions, challenge and provide strategic architectural leadership on transformation and further evolution of their digital solutions. You will use your consultancy skills to build trust with our clients during the sales lifecycle and also during early phase project delivery activities including discovery and proof-of-concept development phases. This trust will lead to long-term relationships with senior technical leaders and CxOs.
Furthermore your leadership will help drive success by working directly with our multi-functional delivery teams and ensuring they are equipped and ready to deliver the solutions you develop.
You will be comfortable operating in a matrix management environment: prepared to take individual accountability for meeting your assigned targets, whilst recognising the primacy of Team, and ultimately, organizational accountability, which requires all leaders to act in the best interest of Capgemini Group and our Clients.
Responsibilities
Communicate our diverse software capability to our clients through social media, conference talks, blogs, special events and client focussed sessions.
Work with the sales team to identify new industries and clients to target and build and execute campaigns and capture plans.
Identify the transformational needs of our clients and build solutions that comprise multiple geographically dispersed teams from across the GBL and wider Capgemini.
Influence clients to allow us to help them to define their requirements so that when the RFP lands we are in the prime position to win the work
Lead the development of our technical proposals
Support delivery (chargeable work) particularly in early engagements and discovery phase assignments, working in a consultative manner to grow significant (£5m+) opportunities.
Your Profile
Essential
A higher education degree in engineering or equivalent apprenticeship & practical experience
Strong appreciation of the project management discipline
Minimum of 8 years' of experience of having handled different client organisations, business lines & environments.
Minimum of 8 years'of experience in software engineering, with client facing experience in a solutions architecture, technical consulting, or presales engineering role.
Outstanding communicator (written and verbal) and networker
Self-motivated and able to use initiative
Demonstrable relationships with Senior Clients up to Chief Executive level
Experience of working with near-shore and offshore engineering centres
A broad-based understanding of the sectors within which we operate and detailed knowledge of at least two of them
A developed understanding of project planning, budgeting and financial management.
Leading complex and high value engagements in a Delivery or Engineering role, through life, from pre-sales to closure
Desirable
Experience in modern architectures, testing, data processing solutions, automated deployment pipelines, etc.
Knowledge of distributed computing and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc.) to build large scale solutions with the latest generation of technologies, preferably from cloud-native foundation project
Experience in embedded software development
Strategic & Transformation Consulting

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.
