Job Description

Currently we have an excellent permanent opportunity for a registered practitioner psychologist to join our client, who are implementing a new service, providing Trauma Informed Care and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) with women who have complex needs and require help to manage their internal processes in a safer way - you will work within a well established 38 bed female low/medium forensic service.

Salary: Up to £58,00 (DoE)

Position: Practitioner Psychologist

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hr (can consider part time)

Setting: Forensic Female

Location: Milton Keynes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of clinical work, including individual and group psychological assessments, interventions, and developing formulations.
  • Providing specialist clinical advice, including assessing care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs.
  • Attending meetings to contribute to clinical care and service user progress, and liaising with external professionals as part of the MDT/CPA process.
  • Leading collaborative risk assessments and management for patients, supporting input from other MDT members.
  • Facilitating reflective practice and debrief sessions for ward teams.
  • Supervising junior department members, including Trainee and Assistant Psychologists.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of clinical governance, ethical practice, and data protection.

For this role, we're looking for someone who has;

  • HCPC registration
  • BPS registration
  • Ideally a Chartered Psychologist status and appropriate post-graduate qualifications
  • Have understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
  • Have experience of applying psychological knowledge to a forensic/clinical setting
  • Be experienced working with clients with cognitive deficits
  • Have previous experience of conducting research and project working
