We provide a critical blend of insider knowledge with communications expertise.Our diverse range of clients include Seymourpowell, SketchUp, Morrama, Fedrigoni, Panasonic Design, Lexus, Gomi and UXUS for whom we provide a wide range of integrated communications consultancy and advice.PERSON SPECIFICATIONWe are looking for a full time Account Director with strong experience across the worlds of design, innovation, architecture and interiors.The successful candidate will have proven experience in leading PR agency teams as well as a good understanding of UK and International media across trade, national and business publications. They will also have an expert knowledge of PR strategy and methodology.The ideal candidate will have demonstrable knowledge and experienceworking on/with key global design events & fairs such as Milan Design Week and Design Miami.The AD will work alongside TDC’s management team delivering across client service, media relations, team management, workflow & financial planning as well as new business. The successful candidate will be responsible for a ‘profit centre’ within the business with their own cluster of clients and team members.This is an opportunity for a passionate and ambitious senior PR professional to make their mark, become a leadership figure in the business and help in keeping a firm hand on the tiller as we grow.The ideal candidate will have a personal passion for subject matter relating to design, innovation, culture, architecture and interiors.ROLE OVERVIEWThe Account Director will contribute to TDC’s continued success by becoming a positive, motivational and supportive leadership figure in the business working alongside other senior team members. The successful candidate will be a senior contact for clients, will manage and oversee TDC’s various accounts teams to ensure campaigns are delivered and service level agreements are met. Commercially minded and creative in nature, the Account Director will be adept at building relationships with key commentators, industry spokespeople and senior journalists. They will also direct and lead PR projects and provide counsel to their clients and board alike. As a senior member of the business, they will also deliver new business and grow existing accounts.The day-to-day will include:Senior contact for client accountsManaging client service and agency performanceOverseeing PR campaigns from creative brief to implementation and deliveryAnalysing PR outcomes and interpreting dataPresenting findings to TDC’s management team, clients and key stakeholdersDelegating to and managing account teamsNurturing talentWinning new business and developing current client accountsContributing to the overall TDC businessDeveloping a wide network and nurturing key contactsKEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeading a profit centre, managing select account teams, providing career counsel, professional development support, monitoring and performance reviewsIdentifying training needs where requiredManaging new accounts along with existing onesKey contact for clients.Overseeing media strategy and account developmentProviding support for agency growth and development of new business pipelineAchieving exceptional outcomes for current clients and managing an extended portfolio ensuring consistency of service is delivered in line with company policyChampioning the agency values and brandDeveloping senior press relationships and managing contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople and sector influencersOffering crisis management and counsel to clients and extending networking opportunitiesOverseeing provision of account resourcesFormulating business strategy in conjunction with other directorsReporting into the management team and providing high level data analysisKEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCEThe ideal candidate will have a minimum of between 5-7 years’ experience in a PR agency role, ideally relating or connected to the sectors outlined above.A strong industry network and contacts with senior journalists and members of the pressProven track record of successfully implementing PR campaigns for a range of clientsPolished presenter and adept at explaining PR terms and outcomes to senior playersCommercial acumen and experience of successfully developing new businessManagement experience of developing talent and overseeing performanceDriven, ambitious and willing to contribute to the businessKeen networker and adept at building relationships with key influencers and industry spokespeopleProven ability to present complex industry information to target audiencesExpertise at handling a range of media to place products, grow brands or pitch for new customersExcellent project management skills with strong organisational and planning skillsExceptional written, verbal and presentation skillsOutstanding interpersonal skillsStrong negotiation and delegation skills
