Power BI Specialist – London (SW1)
My client a market leading provider grants clients access to bespoke data insights and analytics specific to their needs, providing research, data and expertise to support clients and all lines of business (Advisory, Digital, Search). They is an innovation centre focused on illuminating key trends and drivers of human and organizational performance, and also has a focus on delivering deep insights to clients, working collaboratively with our colleagues across the business.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Power BI Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex Power BI solutions to meet the analytical needs of our organisation, as well as advising on and maintaining our Power BI architecture and environment.
This role will be based from my clients SW1 office, however both the hybrid working model and salary / package are to be discussed during interview as it will vary from candidate to candidate

Responsibilities:
Power BI architecture, environment and dataflows
best practices and standards for managing Power BI artifacts, including reports, datasets, and dataflows within workspaces.
and manage dataflows to ingest, transform, and prepare data from various sources for analysis within Power BI.
and implement strategies for automating data refresh processes to keep Power BI reports and dashboards up-to-date.
Power BI deployment pipelines for development, testing, and production environments.
Power BI REST APIs to automate CI/CD pipelines for updating, publishing, and deploying numerous dashboards at scale.
Power BI development
advanced Power BI reports, dashboards, and interactive visualizations that provide actionable insights and drive data-driven decision-making.
and implement efficient and scalable data models using Power BI Desktop and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
complex M query and DAX calculations to manipulate and transform data for analysis and reporting purposes.
Python and/or R scripts into Power BI for data transformation and data visualization.
performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure fast load times and smooth user experience.
Documentation, training and support
and maintain documentation related to Power BI solutions, including data models, calculations, and report designs.
training and support to upskill other data scientists on how to improve their Power BI capabilities.
Requirements:
10 years of experience in business intelligence and data analytics, ideally with 5 years of hands-on experience with Power BI.
in designing and developing complex Power BI reports and dashboards from scratch, with strengths in creating elegant, highly professional data visualisations.
understanding of data modeling and data integration concepts and experience building data models using Power BI Desktop and SSAS.
expertise in designing and implementing Power BI architecture, including workspaces, datasets, and dataflows.
in Power Query M language and writing advanced DAX calculations and optimizing performance of Power BI solutions.
in configuring and managing data refresh schedules and automating data pipelines in Power BI.
working with large and complex datasets from multiple sources.
working with Power BI gateways.
Power BI certification(s) – Desirable.
