Title:Power BI Developer/Analyst Location:Dunstable, UK

Deliveries are undertaken to thousands of hospitals, GP surgeries, retail pharmacies, patients at home, veterinarians, opticians, dentists and other locations on a daily basis.Additional services include temperature controlled warehousing, order to cash fulfilment, specialist home delivery services, managed homecare services including dispensing, phlebotomy, nursing and dietetic support activities.Job Purpose:This is an exciting and varied role where your expertise and knowledge will be used to great effect to make a real impact for our members.As aPower BI Developer /Analyst, you will be a key member of the Data team, working closely with IT, Finance and Operations to deliver the business reporting requirements in a timely and consistent manner.In this role you will be responsible for developing and implementing business intelligence solutions with a focus on Power BI and the Microsoft stack and to support data collection and analysis, ensuring our business intelligence delivery aligns with our mission and objectivesYou will use your skills and experience in data warehousing, data visualisation, and reporting tools to create and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc queries. You will also work with management to aid the ongoing data strategy and ensure data quality and integrity. You will be involved in the entire data lifecycle, from data collection and transformation to data presentation and integration.You will own the development and implementation of data and reporting solutions, integrations between applications and provide database administration working closely with our IT DevOps Team. You will do this using the latest Microsoft technologies: SQL Server Integration Services Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory and Power BI (both dashboards and paginated reports).Main Duties and Responsibilities:Among others, your accountabilities will include:Design, develop and maintain insightful reports primarily using Power BI and other Microsoft stack toolsDesigning and developing technical solutions in Power BI and Azure data platformWorking with different departments to support data collection and analysisTransforming data into actionable information to monitor and understand KPIsDeveloping and providing trusted data on performance, financial positions, and other metrics to aid decision-making across the business. You will also provide tactical information to end users to support process improvement and efficiencyUpdate periodic reports timely and accuratelyInterpret Business requests, finds and collects data and develops reportsUnderstand, analyze and summarize large and diverse sources of data into meaningful and insightful presentationsPerform “what if” analysis simulating changes in business parameters quantifying impactsFind meaningful business relationships in data and communicate appropriatelyIn time has / develop the ability to influence processes and make recommendationsPromote best practice across the team and suggest areas for further improvementAssist the IT Director with ad-hoc requests from the BusinessQualifications:Essential:Strong Excel analysis skillsBusiness & commercial acumenProactive and self-motivated to anticipate, prioritize, and action business demandsAbility to link, interpret, make sense, and communicate findings on diverse data from multiple sourcesComfortable engaging colleagues at different seniority levels across the Company worldwide and sensitive to cultural and working style differencesExperience of presenting analysis and results to diverse audiencesExperience of coordinating analysis across departments / business unitsDelivery of a modern data platform using relevant technologies and services in Microsoft AzureComfortable with or be keen to develop knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, SQL, R, VBA and other programming or data modelling tools and techniquesProven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator; with a good understanding of database standards, end user application integrations, security protocols, development standards and support for deployments of codeStrong architectural understanding of standard Microsoft Stack including SQL Server Database Engine and of Microsoft Azure Database components such as Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instances, and Azure Data FactoryExpert in SQL including stored proceduresProficient in developing cascading, parameterized reports using SQL Server Reporting Service and report development of datasets and reporting in Microsoft Power BIStrong understanding of data modelling conceptsStrong Customer focus, both internal and external with proven experience in gathering low level requirementsExperience of interpreting and analysing complex dataKnowledge and a proven track record in data / data quality managementCode management & deployment toolsProficient in debugging, monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting BI solutions.Desirable:Experience with visualization tools such as Microsoft PowerBI,Tableau, QLikview, DOMOProficient in the development of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) solutions and Azure Data FactoryCustomer focus – mostly Senior Management in the CompanyExperience of working in a multi-national, matrix environmentExperience of working in logistics or a high-volume industryStatistical modelling experience (R, SPSS, EViews)Other Skills and Educational Qualifications:Essential:BSc (or Degree equivalent), preferably in a numerical discipline such as mathematics, economics, statistics, information technology, engineering, or physical sciencesStrong Excel analysis skillsExcellent analytical skillsVery attentive to detail, inquisitive and naturally curiousTeam player, keen to learnStrong interpersonal and communication skillsDesirable:Exposure to financial planning, understanding of company financialsMarken is a wholly owned subsidiary of UPS and is a critical part of UPS Healthcare.
