Amid the growing urgency to enhance energy infrastructure for achieving net zero goals and combating climate change, we are working with Energy UK to recruit a Policy Manager for their Investment Team in the Policy Directorate.

This role will contribute to Energy UK's initiatives in infrastructure, planning, and environmental policies, which are prioritised on the political agenda. As the Policy Manager, you will help overcome barriers to national energy infrastructure development by streamlining planning processes, fostering a resilient energy system, and advocating for policies attracting sustainable investments in low-carbon energy infrastructure, benefiting everyone.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating generation activities sector-wide and keeping Energy UK members informed about significant policy and regulatory developments
  • Engaging with and convening industry members and other stakeholders to gather feedback and insights to influence policy developments
  • Providing guidance on existing and emerging regulatory frameworks to facilitate effective investment in UK power infrastructure, aligning with industry goals for the energy transition
  • Speaking at relevant meetings and conferences
  • Assisting in the preparation of generation-related documents for the Energy UK Board, Member Committees, and other relevant groups and sub-committees as directed by the Deputy Director
  • At as key representative at roundtables, committees and other events.

Personal Specification:

  • Proven background in the energy sector, or other relevant market such as built environment, regulated construction or infrastructure with a keen interest in the energy sector
  • Excellent stakeholder management experience
  • Strong awareness for British politics dynamics, as well as wider global matters which effect the UK energy market
  • Demonstrable experience in policy development
  • Specific knowledge of UK power market design is desirable.

Energy UK operates a hybrid working environment from their office in Central London, meeting as a team when required with a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.

This is a full-time, permanent position and applicants must be eligible to work permanently in UK. Unfortunately, sponsorship cannot be offered.
